YOUTH ON THE AIR AT 98.7FM by Ralph E Smith

On May 25, 2003, there was a take over at 98.7Kiss FM.  The normal operation of the OpenLine Program was turned over to Sukari Mtume, Nathaniel Sinckler, Shennel Barnes, and Fatiya Stroman.

The callers kept the lines filed up with questions about the war and wanted to know what the on air radio youth broasdcasters thought about the teacher problems in New York.

To hear how professional the young broadcasters sounded and held their own during this Live Show was great!

The Openline Team really needs to be given their praise for setting a tone of leadership for the youth in New York City.  There are many programs throughout New York that have closed their doors to youth and programs, but the Openline 98.7Kiss FM Team has opened its' doors to giving  youth exposure to radio broadcasting careers, exposure to the people and the radio vibe.  Great Job!  Stay tuned in for more youth news on the OpenLine 98.7Kiss FM Show.
