NYC Correction Officers Helping Youth: A Officer Uses Football as a way to help youth achieve! 

September 11, 2004: Correction Officers' Benevolent Association, Inc will remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.  Correction Officers like all other Americans will not be deterred by the threat of terrorism.  We will present awards to members of the New York City Department of Correction that may have lost family members on that horrific day.

The ceremony will begin at 9:30am with the Department of Correction Color Guards, Emerald Pipe Band and Musicians along with invited guest.  After that, we will enjoy a day of fun and celebration with our family

The Grand Council of Guardians Inc. consists of African Americans in the field of Law  Enforcement, uniform and civilians throughout N.Y.S..  The Grand Council of Guardians active membership include members of the N.Y.C. Police Dept, N.Y.C. Corrections, N.Y.S. Court, N.Y.S. Corrections, N.Y.S. Parole, Ebony Soc., Division of School Safety, N.Y.C. Sheriff, & N.Y.C. Probation. Other listed affiliated org include, N.Y.S. Trooper,  Westchester Corrections, Taxi & Limo, Brothers of the Shield, M.T.A. Police, Yonkers, Westchester-Rockland, Nassau County, Suffolk County, Bronze Shields, N.B.P.A...   Some of the programs we conduct for the public include

 

1. What to do when stopped by the Police 

2. How to navigate through the Court System 

3. Safety Tips for Children 

4. Voter Registration 

5. Fingerprinting I.D. Program 

6. N.Y.S. Child I.D. Program 

7. How to Successfully complete Probation

If you would like to participate in any of these programs, please attend a meeting or reply via email or if you would like to join and start a program of your own, please join and or reply asap.

The Grand Council of Guardians Inc. was formed in 1974 as an umbrella organization for local Law Enforcement chapters to render effective service to our members and Community.
