The Vulcan Society Inc. (Fire Department of NewYork City)The Vulcan Society will soon begin a low cost training program for men and women interested in becoming Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT's) and then firefighters.

Applicants must be between 18 - 26 years old, have 30 college credits and a clean record.   If interested in the program call (718) 444-8921 and leave a message and a means to contact you or e-mail recruitment.

FDNY employees who are working as EMT’s or Paramedics will have the opportunity, if qualified, to file for and take the promotion to Firefighter written examination.   Those who pass the written will take a physical and a promotion list will be created.  All eligibles on the list will take a medical and a psychological. A list of qualified promotion eligibles is used before the open competitive list.
