GUARDIAN CHRONICLE

Hello Mr.Smith,

While going to the numerous websites looking for any information pertaining to the 315 Correction Officers that lost their jobs I came across the previous articles sent by other Co's and felt the need to express my feelings and concerns. The one thing that truly bothers me about this situation is the fact that while we were in the Academy their were talks of letting us go.Mr.Seabrook came to the Correction Academy and assured us that we would not be laid off instead the city would postpone all future classes until 2004.That was the beginning of what we thought would be a secure future in the Department Of Corrections until the talks of layoffs resurfaced. This time Mr.Seabrook called an emergency meeting in which he encouraged all Officers with three years or less to attend. At this meeting once again Mr.Seabrook spoke of saving everyone's job.Anyone who went to the meeting left feeling satisfied. On April 8th on the NY1 program Inside City Hall Mr.Seabrook made a statement and I quote "I stated emphatically that I would do everything that I can to protect the job of every single Correction Officer and that is just what I am going to do" Twice Mr.Seabrook told us that he would save our jobs that is until the pink slips starting rolling in.My main concern is that now that we have lost our jobs I have yet to see Mr.Seabrook call an emergency meeting, write us a letter, or have someone contact us with any information that may help us make decisions regarding our futures!

Is the union that harsh that due to the fact that we no longer pay union dues they feel the need exclude us from any information they may have.

IS THE FIGHT FOR ALL 315 LAID OFF CORRECTION OFFICERS OVER ?????????????????????
