The hard question that must now be addressed by the Mayor and the COBA is what will happen to the 315 Correction Officers who are now with out a job!  One of our readers sent this letter to the Guardian Chronicle:

Hello Mr. Smith (Letter received July 3, 2003)

I'm not sure if I'm email the correct person, but you are the only person I can find on the internet. I was wondering why the 315 correction officer's that were laid off hasn't heard something.  Everyone was preaching how we are still brother's and sister's of DOC but it sure doesn't feel like it.  We or I haven't heard anything from Mr. Seabrook, and I'm becoming more concerned.  All we hear is rumor's, is there a possibility that we can receive a letter or an email telling us that; there at least talking about bringing us back.  It's becoming very hard these days!  There are no jobs, and because DOC doesn't give you a certificate for all the training you go through, it's like we are nobody.  I figured when I walked into a job interview my ex-job title would speak for itself.  I was Wrong.                                                          THANKS
