MEMBERS OF GRAND COUNCIL OF GUARDIANS HOLD PRESS CONFERENCE TO FIND KILLERS OF CORRECTION OFFICER          GREGORY GOFF

President Charles Billups of the Grand Council of Guardians will hold A Press Conference calling on residents of Jamaica Queens to come forward with information leading to the arrest of the person/persons responsible for fatally shooting Gregory Goff.

On February 12th 2004 at 5:00pm members of the Grand Council of Guardians will hold a Press Conference in front of 107-51 Guy Brewer Boulevard Jamaica New York.  This is the location where Gregory Goff, life was needlessly taken on February 7th 2004 at approximately 2:00am.

The Grand Council of Guardians will call on Residents of Jamaica to come forward with information leading to the capture and conviction of the person/persons responsible for fatally shooting Gregory Goff.

Members of the Guardians Association, including over one hundred off-duty Correction Officers and Police Officers will then canvass the area going door to door, corner to corner, handing out posters and tip cards asking members of the community to come forward with information and to call 1 (800) 577-TIPS or the 103rd Precinct’s Detective squad at 1 (718) 657-8220. 

Also in attendance will be Councilman Leroy Comrie, Senator Malcolm Smith, Congressman Greg Meeks and others TBA.

NEW YORK CITY CORRECTION OFFICER GREGORY GOFF  SHOT DEAD AT NEW YORK CLUB FEBRUARY 7, 2003

Gregory Goff, New York City Correction Officer age 24 according to police was killed when two men fired gunshots inside the Lebanon Lodge in Queens killing Officer Goff and injuring three other people.

The gunfire started at about 3am after two men got into a fight over a woman.  According to Police, "one of the men fighting pulled out a gun and started firing into the crowd.  The gunman dropped the gun when he was hit in the head with an object.  Another man picked up the gun and kept shooting.

The NYPD stated New York City Correction Officer Gregory Goff, 24 was shot in the torso and died at Mary Immaculate Hospital.  Officer Goff worked at a detention facility on Rikers Island.  He had his service weapon with him, but police don't believe he fired it.  Correction Officer Goff had one year on job and according to friend,  Goff enjoyed helping people.
