UNIONS MARCH WITH

ROGER TOUSSAINT TWU PRESIDENT

STARTS 10 DAY JAIL SENTENCE

Story & Photos by Ralph E . Smith April 24, 2006

Reason I support Roger Toussaint is because he is a leader. He is fighting for what he believes in and will not let anything get in the way of his cause. He is fighting for union workers to receive better wages and as a union member myself I totally support his fight.  Thank you.  George Morales, Local 731

Rober Toussaint TWU President & Supports March Across the Brooklyn Bridge by Ralph E Smith 2005

Story by Ralph E. Smith

"It's all About Respect".  Many of the people I spoke to stated the same thing.  The one concerning note about the march was speaking with other reporters telling their stories about being pushed to the ground like Jessica from the Daily News.  This young reporter was very upset about how she was treated during the march by the supporters.  I did all I could to assist her.

"It's About Respect" and respecting those who show up to tell your story.   As for this reporter, one lady with an orange vest yelled in my ear for no reason and a few supporters tried to push me.  I think my 209 pound frame combined over 20 years of covering street news helped me to handle the coverage.

The most important fact here is that unions are coming together to support Mr. Roger Toussaint.  This is one man standing up for union rights.  Today, his supporters stood with him.  The 10 day sentence was very wrong.
