My name is John Andino , I am a new Correction Officer coming out of the most recent 

graduating class and currently working in RNDC. My parents were born in Fajardo

Puerto Rico. I was born and raised in the South Bronx. I have always dreamed of

a career in law enforcement and of one day marching in the Puerto Rican day

parade representing my people. I got to realize both dreams on June 14, 2009 

when on my first year as a Correction Officer I was fortunate enough to have the

day off and be able to participate in the parade and was asked by officer

Rodriguez of the Hispanic Society if I would hold up their banner front and

center, I did so with pride, It is a day I will never forget.
