Dr. Ali Al-Rahman was the M.C for this symposium.  Dr. Sean Fanelli- President of Nassau Community College addressed  the audience followed by the keynote address by the Honorable Carolyn McCarthy, United States Representative currently serving her 6th term representing Long Island's 4th Congressional District.

Moderator JoAnne Lecci introduced the following Honoress:

Carolyn Thomas, a 24 year veteran of the Department promoted to Chief of Department, the agency's highest uniformed rank March 17, 2006.

Lorraine A. Hannon, is the Deputy Chief Commanding Officer in the Internal Affairs Unit in the Nassau County Police Department.

Angela B. Jimenez began her career in public service in 1979 as a Senior Counselor with The Oxford Project/Phoenix House.  Ms. Jimenez currently serves as the Director of Operations for the New York State Division of Parole.

Martin F. Horn Commissioner of the NYCD  also attended this event honoring women in law enforcement who are setting new levels of  standards and achievements.
