This was the largest number of  staff from the New York City Department of Correction to walk in the March of Dimes.  What most people don't know is that for the last 9 years, this event was coordinated and managed by the energy, vision, and motivation of Ferlisha Murray - NYCD Officer.

Officer Murray has a great way of putting together a wonderful team of NYCD Staff who volunteer to come out and walk for the babies.  Officer Murray takes on a great deal of work for the event and smiles looking for nothing in return.

I asked Officer Murray, Why do you this every year?  You run around with one car all these boxes of stuff to give to your team, Why? Officer Murray responded, "Smithy I put together the meetings and make all the arrangements because at the end of the event, it's all about the babies and giving back."
