MTA NYC STRIKE
New York City wakes up to the New York City MTA Strike. Fernando Mateo- President of the Fed. of Taxi Drivers says his cars are standing by. Lets get people to work. The Guardian Chronicle interviewed workers on the strike line at Triboro Coach in Queens. This group of 20 people spoke with one voice. Thomas Trotta and Robert Esposito said, "We want a good contract. We worked for 3 years without. Now it's time for a good contract." Mayor Bloomberg showing leadership walked across the Brooklyn Bridge. A long cold walk at 7:30am . Mayor Bloomberg has stated that a strike will cost the city 400 million dollars a day. Adolfo Carrion Bronx Borough President at 7:30pm says ,"The Bronx will be o.k., but the Governor needs to now come in and bring both sides back to the table. Kids will be delayed or not go to school. The cost is 22 million dollars a day. Both parties can share the blame.
