ERROL TOULLAN, JR Long Island Family Victim of Possible Bias Crime According to WABC NEWS in New York City February 7, 2007 Possible bias crime on Long Island "Residents heard an explosion outside the Sandy Court home just after 11 p.m. Neighbors reported hearing someone, possibly the suspects, yelling for the family in the home to get out of the neighborhood, and using a racial slur. "The hate crimes unit is investigating the incident occurring at 24 sandy court lake grove as a hate crime. The victim reports hearing a racial epithet. Preliminary investigation indicates the criminal mischief to the mailbox was caused by a firework that has not been identified. Tests are being conducted to determine the type of fireworks used." said Dt. Sgt. Robert Reeks. Suffolk County police are investigating the incident as a possible bias crime. No one was injured."
