                                                                                                                Norman Seabrook   President  COBA

On April 9, 2002, the entire city was horrified by the barbaric killing of veteran Correction Officer Andrew Morgan. Officer Morgan was shot numerous times as he sat in his parked car while off duty. His wife was seven months pregnant at the time. Immediately following this tragedy, President Seabrook vowed that he would stop at nothing to ensure that this callous killer would be brought to justice. At President Seabrook's urging, the Brooklyn District Attorney instructed his detectives to utilize every resource available to apprehend the killer. Now, after three years of an intensive search, Officer Morgan's Killer has finally been caught. On February 1, 2005, the killer was arraigned in Brooklyn State Supreme Court where he is awaiting trial and facing 25 years to life. His next court date is on 2/22/05.

The COBA commends the DA, the detectives from the 60th Precinct and the detectives from the Brooklyn Homicide Task Force. We are truly grateful for their unrelenting efforts to track down this callous thug. Officer Morgan will forever be remembered as one of the very best of New York's Boldest.
