Brooklyn Tabernacle church located at 17 Smith Street, Brooklyn, New York, 11201 November 6, 2005 held an outstanding service honoring members of the New York City Department of Correction.

Burl Cain, the Warden of the Louisiana State Penitentiary in Angola, Louisiana was the guest speaker. According to Warden Cain, "Do the best you can where you are.  In our prison system, we built a community and changed the culture of prison.  When we lost the pell grants, a community organization came into the prison and said they can start a college program, if you let us.  Now the inmates have turned in their gang life for an education."

The Pastor spoke about how prayer can change a person's life! He spoke about how the NYCD Correction Staff and Salvation Army Staff may have people in their families that are in need.  The answer is prayer.

Freddy Richardson- A New York City Correction Officer who attended the service stated to the Guardian Chronicle, "GOD is good all the time. We enjoyed the entire ceremony. The Salvation Army Band, the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, the inspiring speech made by Warden Cain, and the testimony presented by the pastor Jim Cymbala. Bringing every thing into a nut shell, just pray and have faith, ask God, and your prayers will get answered. Officer Richardson is a member of the Communications Unit.
