Law Enforcement is a program under the auspices of the Greater New York Councils/ Learning for Life Program.  This program supports schools and organizations as they prepare youth to successfully handle the complexities of contemporary society and enhance their self-esteem and motivation.  It is a Para-military style program which stresses the value of youth leadership and positive adult role models.

Bobby Darius Glover, at 14 joined the New York City Police Department's Law Enforcement Explorers Program of the 84th precinct, Brooklyn.  It was there that he met Retired Detective Vonsell King and Sergeant Lawrence Johnson.  The Officers assisted Bobby in developing responsibility and leadership skills.   Bobby loved being an NYPD Explorer; he was having lots of fun while learning valuable lessons of life.  In 1997 he inspired his mother, Correction Officer Daphne Glover-Robinson to initiate the Correction Explorers Program.  Bobby assisted her in every way he could to make the Correction Explorers program a success.

Unfortunately, in 2003 Bobby Darius Glover developed a rare form of cancer and passed away on January 21, 2004.  We aim to continue the empowerment of our youth, preparing them to be responsible, productive adults.

To further these efforts, we are proud to announce th e Bobby Darius Glover Law Enforcement Exploring Memorial Scholarship Award for New York City Correction Explorers.  This annual scholarship, sponsored through the Federal Drug Agents Foundation with Dr. Richard Leinhardt, Chief Surgeon, Department of Correction, will be awarded to one or more Correction Explorers, annually who meet the stated criteria.

The spirit of Bobby lives on through this outstanding program.  This was a night of many thanks to the many who help make the program work and to the vision of Daphne Glover- Robinson.

This was also a great night for the Explorer Promotions.  The uniforms were sharp and pride filled the room.

Many thanks to all who came out and made this a wonderful night for the Explorers!
